New Guinness Book of World Record on Shortest Man of The World


We knew that, a Nepali named Khagendra Thapa Magar had won the title of the world's shortest man with a height of 67 centimeter on October 14, 2010. But he had to lost his title on june 12, 2011 and had won the same title by Junrey Balawing of the Philippines. But once again, a Nepali has won the title of the world’s shortest man on February 26 2012; Guinness Book of World Records officials announced the 54.6 cm tall Chandra Bahadur Dangi as the shortest man ever recorded.
Chandra Bahadur Dangi, Seventy-two-year-old man, from a remote village in Dang (Nepal), was born in Salyan as the fifth son. He has spent his life as a normal man and also it has been said that, his other all family members are of average height.
The Guinness Book of World Records on Sunday officially conferred Chandra Bahadur Dangi with two records:
  1. The Shortest Man Ever Measured and,
  2. The Shortest Living Man in the World.
"The good news is Mr Dangi is not only the shortest living man in the world but also the shortest man ever measured," said Guinness World Records Editor-in-Chief Craig Glenday while announcing the records in Kathmandu, Nepal. "After measuring Dangi's height thrice in the last 24 hours, he stands only 54.6 cm (21.5 inch) tall," Glenday told. Glenday handed two certificates of Guinness records to Dangi.
